*Note – Dr. Parks is on research leave for the Fall 2020 semester and not accepting new students until Fall 2021

Information for Undergraduate Students

There are several ways undergraduates can get involved in research in our lab. We have periodic openings for students, usually in the fall semester, and give preference for students who are able to commit 4 or more semesters to the lab. If you decide you are interested in joining the lab for research experience, please send Dr. Parks an email outlining:

  1. Your major and current year/semester
  2. A copy of your transcript
  3. Your current resume
  4. A one page document outlining how research in the Parks lab relates to your career goals after graduation.

Students may seek support for research activities through the following programs at Syracuse University:

LSAMP (Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation) Summer REU

Biology Department Summer Research Fellowships

Information for Graduate Students

The Parks Lab anticipates having an opening for a PhD student starting in Fall 2021. Please contact Dr. Parks directly if you are interested in joining the lab to discuss options.

Information for Postdoctoral Researchers

The Parks lab is always interested in collaborating and mentoring recent PhD recipients interested in behavioral ecology and bioacoustics through postdoctoral opportunities in the laboratory. Currently there are no funded positions available, however, Dr. Parks is happy to discuss options for independently funded projects for interested candidates.
